The Cowgirls entered the weekend with a losing record against teams in their Regional, and that was all thanks to Wichita State. But the Cowgirls got some revenge on Saturday.

Oklahoma State beat Wichita State 6-0 at Cowgirl Stadium to advance to the Stillwater Regional finals. As of writing, OSU could play Wichita State, Nebraska or UMBC on Sunday, where OSU would need to win one of two games to advance to the Super Regional round.

Alabama transfer pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl was nails for the Cowgirls, throwing six scoreless innings, allowing only four hits while walking one and striking out six. Freshman Kyra Aycock came on in the seventh and closed the door after allowing a hit.

The Cowgirls plated a run in the first when Rachel Becker scored off a Kiley Naomi groundout. It marked Naomi’s fifth RBI of the Regional.

OSU’s 1-0 lead held steady until the fourth when Katelynn Carwile had an infield single that scored Naomi before Morgyn Wynne singled to score Micaela Wark and Taylor Tuck singled to score Carwile to balloon OSU’s lead to 4-0.

A Wark single in the fifth made it 5-0 OSU before Megan Bloodworth doubled in the sixth to bring in Tallen Edwards to make it 6-0.

Bloodworth had struggled at the plate entering the Regional, failing to get a hit in her past 23 at-bats, but she is now 2-for-6 in Regional play with a pair of RBIs. She also made a few nice plays at third base. The Shockers had the bases loaded in the fifth before Bloodworth took to the skies and snagged a ball to end the frame.

The Cowgirls will be back in action at 3 p.m. Sunday with a Super Regional bid on the line.
