It was a quick Saturday for the Cowgirls.

Oklahoma State shut out Texas Tech 13-0 to end the game early after the fifth inning at Cowgirl Stadium. The Cowgirls thumped Tech 11-3 on Friday night to start the series in just six innings. OSU can notch the sweep at 1 p.m. Sunday. It would be the Cowgirls’ third Big 12 sweep of the season.

Ivy Rosenberry was the backbone behind Saturday’s shutout, tossing five scoreless innings while striking out eight. She improved to 12-3 on the season after getting the win in the circle.

At the dish, Karli Godwin hit a pair of homers to become OSU’s freshman single-season home run recorder holder with 12. Godwin got runs on the board early Saturday with a three-run shot over left field in the bottom of the first. She then hit her next long ball the next inning to cap a five-run second inning for OSU.

That second-inning scoring frenzy started when Lexi McDonald hit a ball to second base that ultimately scored Tia Warsop from second thanks to a throwing error. Tallen Edwards then got on via fielder’s choice while scoring Macy Graf. Megan Bloodworth then stole home before Godwin’s two-run bomb finished things off for the frame.

The Cowgirls added one more in the third with Bloodwort’s groundout that scored Taylor Anderson to keep their scoring streak going. OSU then put up three in the fourth in its last trip to the box.
