OSU Softball: Cowgirls Season Ends with 12-0 Loss to Arkansas
It’ll be the first time the Cowgirls miss the WCWS since 2018.
The streak is over. For the first time since 2018, the Women’s College World Series won’t feature the Cowgirls.
Oklahoma State fell to Arkansas 12-0 on Sunday night in six innings in the Fayetteville Regional final. The game started more than four hours behind schedule because of thunderstorms, but once it started, little went the Cowgirls’ way.
In the top of the first inning, Arkansas had runners on first and second when Courtney Day hit a ball through the left side. Leftfielder Rachael Hathoot came up firing. It was initially ruled that she threw out Raigan Kramer at the plate, but after further review, Kramer had beaten the tag, scoring the game’s first run.
With runners on the corners later in the first, another single to left scored a run before the Razorbacks loaded the bases with an infield single and earned a bases-loaded walk to make it 3-0. OSU pitcher Ruby Meylan got out of the inning with a strikeout.
Arkansas put up another three spot in the third. Meylan came out after the first run, making way for RyLee Crandall. The Razorbacks had a pair of RBI doubles off Crandall before the Baylor transfer got out of the inning.
It went from bad to worse in the sixth, where Arkansas put up six runs to threaten the run-rule. That sixth inning featured four Arkansas hits and two OSU errors. The game’s final runs were scored on a three-run home run from Karlie Davison.
From there, Rosie Davis got on with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but after a diving catch in center, Davis was thrown out at first for a game-ending double play.
The Cowgirls finished just 3-for-20 (.150) at the plate Sunday. The Cowgirls’ offense had its rough patches this season, but it had been pretty good in the Regional, scoring a combined 32 runs in their previous three games.
OSU’s best chance to score came in the fifth. Down 6-0 at the time, the Cowgirls had the bases loaded after Megan Bloodworth was hit by a pitch. Micaela Wark then looped a ball into no man’s land between the shortstop, centerfielder and the second baseman. But Davison, the second baseman, laid out and made a fantastic catch to end the inning. It saved at least two runs.

Year 10 of the Kenny Gajewksi era of OSU softball ends at 35-20. The Cowgirls fielded a fairly young team in 2025. Only three players in OSU’s starting lineup from Sunday’s game were seniors — Megan Delgadillo, Rachael Hathoot and Megan Bloodworth.
