After stumbling against a Sunflower State school in the midweek, the Cowgirls made up for it with a three-game sweep against the Jayhawks.

Oklahoma State beat Kansas 7-0 on Saturday to secure the Easter weekend series sweep. The win pushes OSU to 6-0 in Big 12 play through two conference series. Saturday’s game was the Cowgirls’ most dominant of the series after beating KU 7-5 on Thursday and 5-1 on Friday.

Freshman Kyra Aycock advanced to 8-0 on the season in the circle, throwing six 1/3 innings Saturday where she gave up just four hits while walking two and striking out five.

Behind Aycock, the Cowgirls made a trio of double plays, including to end the game.

The Cowgirls scored four runs in the first inning, three of which came with two outs. It started with a Micaela Wark sacrifice fly. Playing against her old team, Wark went 4-for-10 (.400) at the plate this weekend, scoring three runs and knocking in four more.

That led to a Katelynn Carwile RBI double before Morgyn Wynne had an RBI double. Another former Jayhawk, Wynne also went 4-for-10 at the dish on the weekend with one run scored and three RBIs. Freshman Katie Lott ended the four-run inning with an RBI single to score Wynne.

OSU finished its scoring in the second with three more runs. Rachel Becker hit her second home run of the year to make it 5-0 before Wark and Wynne tacked on their RBI totals against their old team.

After the Cowgirls’ 14-game winning streak came to an end against Wichita State earlier in the week, OSU started anew. OSU and OU are the only Big 12 teams undefeated in league play at this point.

OSU hosts Tulsa at 6 p.m. Tuesday and UT-Arlington at 6 p.m. Wednesday before hosting Iowa State next weekend. The Cyclones will enter that series at the bottom of the Big 12 standings at 1-8.
