OSU Wrestling: Teague Travis Commits to Oklahoma State

Cowboys land a Junior World team trials placer and two-time Missouri state champ.

John Smith picked up his first commitment of the 2021 class as two-time Missouri State Champion Teague Travis announced he is committing to Oklahoma State.

Travis makes his commitment after his official visit this past weekend at the TCU game. is the No. 36 ranked prospect in the 2021 class according to FloWrestling. Travis finished 7th at the Junior World Team trials this summer at 61 KG as only a high school junior.

The size fit for the Cowboys and Teague is about as good as it gets. They have two top notch lower weights coming for 2020 and an incredible group of upper weights. Travis is ranked No. 18 in the country at 138 pounds and projects in the 141-149 range.

This is a really solid early commitment for what should be another good class for 2021 as the Cowboys have some strong ties to many of the top talent in that group.

An interesting note: OSU football commit Monroe Mills was the heavyweight on Travis’ wrestling team.

Maybe this kid will progress in accomplishments before he comes onboard because I am just not impressed at this point. Does PSU go after guys ranked 18th?

He’s the #36 overall guy in the class of 2021, which is probably the equivalent to like a 4 star prospect in basketball or football? Add to that being coached by the 🐐 and training in a room full of studs, and I’m sure he can pan out just fine for OSU.
