Halloween was rather spooky, and now we’ll see how the Cowboys respond with the calendar turned to November.

Oklahoma State travels to the Little Apple for a game against Kansas State at noon on Saturday. Here’s how we see the game going.

What We’re Predicting

Uniforms: These are already out, but we made our predictions before they dropped. You get a point for the helmet color, the decal, the jersey number color and the pants color.

Drew Mestemaker over/under 3.5 total TDs: In the past three games, OSU’s quarterback has averaged four touchdowns a contest. Can he keep that pace up?

Will OSU’s defense force over/under 3.5 punts: Over the past three games, OSU’s defense has forced 3.6 punts a contest.

TD Parlay: You can name as many players who you think will score a touchdown (passing TDs don’t count), and you get two points for each player you name. However if you name a guy who doesn’t score a touchdown, you get no points in this section.

Score: Three points are up for grabs here: one for guessing the correct winner, one for being on the right side of the spread (OSU -5.5) and one to whichever one of us gets closest to the actual score.

Uniform: Black (Cursive) — White (Black) — Orange

Mestemaker over/under 3.5 total TDs: Over

Mestemaker has been on a heater since Week 2, but he’s particularly been on a heater of late, throwing for nine touchdowns in the past two games. With OSU’s defense struggling, I think he’ll continue to keep his foot on the gas.

OSU’s defense force over/under 3.5 punts: Over

The two punts the Cowboys forced against Houston pushed this number down a bit. I imagine given last Saturday’s performance, the defense will be looking to prove something. That doesn’t mean I expect a 2021-type performance, but I do think the group plays better in Manhattan.

TD Parlay: Caleb Hawkins, Justin Bowick

As you’ll see in the scoreboard portion, I’m in need of some points, so I’m not going too crazy on my TD parlay in hopes of getting an easy 4-pointer on the board.

Score: Oklahoma State 42, Kansas State 35

Feels like we could be in store for a series of barnburners for the remainder of the season with how banged up OSU’s defense is getting. I think the defense does just enough to get the Cowboys back on the winning side of things this weekend.

Kyle Cox

Uniform: White (Pete) — White (Black) — Orange

Mestemaker over/under 3.5 total TDs: Over

I hate to call it a bounce-back for an offense that scored 49 points last week, but I feel like he’s coming in with something to prove.

OSU’s defense force over/under 3.5 punts: Over

Maybe this is a bit optimistic, but I think the Cowboys will be able to slow the Wildcats down. And the Cats have punted 12 times in the last two games since Avery Johnson went out.

TD Parlay: Caleb Hawkins, Justin Bowick, Terrence Lewis

Score: Oklahoma State 42, Kansas State 30

I feel like the Cowboys do get a get-right game on the road. There were a lot of things that had to go wrong for the result we saw in Ames last weekend. Here’s predicting a couple of those don’t.

Tyler Waldrep

Uniform: White (Brand) — White (Black) — Black

Mestemaker over/under 3.5 total TDs: Over

Drew had five last week and four against Colorado. I think he’s getting better by the week. Add in a defense that is struggling and a shift to use running back Caleb Hawkins even more in the passing game and that adds up to a big passing performance from Mestemaker.

OSU’s defense force over/under 3.5 punts: Over

The Wildcats have punted six times in the last two games without Avery Johnson at the helm. Oklahoma State’s defense is averaging 4.5 punts over the same span. It’s not a given, but I think I’m stealing a line that should have been at least one punt higher.

TD Parlay: Justin Bowick, Wyatt Young, Caleb Hawkins (x2)

Kansas State has a problem stopping running backs and Caleb Hawkins is on a tear lately, so I’m expecting another huge performance from him. As usual I’m prepared to just ride with Justin Bowick and Wyatt Young each week. I am hesitant that Young’s streak could get snapped this time, but Morris made a point to say the team needs Young out there, and I have such a high point total to hit this week that I’m expecting plenty of touchdowns for everyone.

Score: Oklahoma State 55, Kansas State 38

The Cowboys seem to give up three or four touchdowns for free. So I’m really only betting on Kansas State’s offense earning an additional 10 points. That said, as was the case last week and for most of the season I don’t see how the Wildcats slow down Drew Mestemaker.

Scoreboard

I’m in last. I don’t want to talk about it. Predictions from Nathan and Justin here.

1. Tyler Waldrep — 45
2. Justin Southwell — 44.5
3. Kyle Cox — 42
4. Nathan Gilsleider — 40
5. Marshall Scott — 35
