PFB Picks: Predictions for Oklahoma State’s Season Finale against Colorado
Predictions for OSU’s finale.
One more.
Oklahoma State will head to Boulder to take on Coach Prime’s Colorado at 11 a.m. Friday for the Cowboys’ 2024 season finale. While the Pokes are still needing their first conference win, the Buffaloes are still fighting for a spot in the Big 12 Championship in their first year back in the league. Here is how the PFB staff sees the Black Friday matchup going.
Marshall Scott
Score: Colorado 45, Oklahoma State 31
OSU MVP: Ollie Gordon
Uniform: White (Pete)-White (Orange)-Orange
Thoughts: I thought last week was the Cowboys’ final chance to get off the schneid in Big 12 play, and they almost did it. Unfortunately for the Pokes, now they have to go on the road to play a team that is clinging to a thread of Big 12 title and CFP hopes. Colorado is also a team that might be trying to make a Heisman Trophy statement for Travis Hunter. My hopes are that the OSU offense continues to look good with Maealiuaki Smith running the show, but I think OSU has little chance of finishing the year with a Big 12 win.
Dekota Gregory
Score: Colorado 48, Oklahoma State 30
OSU MVP: Ollie Gordon
Uniform: White (Brand) – White (Orange) – Orange
Thoughts: A Mike Gundy team going winless in conference play seems unbelievable, but the Cowboys beating this high-powered Colorado team seems even more realistic. Coach Prime’s squad has a lot to play for with an outside chance of getting to Arlington next week. Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are also still in Heisman contention and need special performances to bring in some hardware in a few weeks. And this OSU defense is the perfect opportunity to have a day. Colorado lives off big plays, and that’s exactly what kills the Cowboys. A revamped offense with Maealiuaki Smith could put up more points for OSU, but there’s just no keeping up with Sanders and Hunter and more. But through all this, make sure to enjoy Brennan Presley and Ollie Gordon one last time.
