PFB Picks: Predictions for Oklahoma State’s Week 3 Game against Tulsa
Predictions for the score, game MVP and OSU’s uniform combo.
The Cowboys are on the road for the first time this season, but they won’t have to travel far.
No. 13 Oklahoma State will visit Tulsa on Saturday, hoping to not only go 3-0 in the nonconference and extend its win streak to 10 in the series, but also work out some of the bugs that showed themselves during the comeback win over Arkansas. Tulsa, on the other hand, is looking to avoid its second-straight year of entering conference play below .500. The Cowboys and Golden Hurricane square off at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.
Here’s how the PFB staff sees this one playing out.
Marshall Scott
Score: Oklahoma State 41, Tulsa 24
Game MVP: Brennan Presley
Uniform: White (Patriot Pete)-White-Orange
Thoughts: No disrespect to the Golden Hurricane, but I think this will be the most straightforward game the Cowboys have had to this point. This game could be big in terms of mojo for OSU’s offensive line to build confidence and push the running game out of this slump. OSU has force fed Brennan Presley to this point, and I wouldn’t expect that to stop in Presley’s hometown. I think they’ll get him the ball in creative ways, and OSU fans will go into conference play with some confidence at 3-0.
Kyle Cox
Score: Oklahoma State 38, Tulsa 21
Game MVP: Ollie Gordon
Uniform: White (Cursive)-White-Orange
Thoughts: I think the Cowboys work out some of the bugs, and I also think that a reeling Tulsa offense is the perfect chicken soup for Bryan Nardo’s soul. I will also continue to pick Ollie Gordon as my MVP until he actually has an Ollie Gordon game this season.
Dekota Gregory
Score: Oklahoma State 48, Tulsa 20
Game MVP: Brennan Presley
Uniform: Orange (Cursive)-White (Orange)-Orange
Thoughts: Take a deep breath, Cowboy fans. After an uncomfortable Week 1 and a double-overtime comeback thriller last week, this might be your only week of the season to relax a bit before Big 12 play starts. Tulsa tends to make this game closer than expected, but I still foresee this being OSU’s first blowout of the season. If not, the Pokes might not get one in 2024. I even hope we get our first glimpse of Zane Flores.
I’m also all for a good story, which is why I more hope than believe Brennan Presley will be Game MVP. A Tulsa-area kid, who by the way didn’t even get an offer from TU, going back home to play against his little brother in his final college season.
