PFB Update: New Pod Coming, PFB+ Sale

Updates on PFB heading into the new school year.

Somehow we’re already on the precipice of another football season.

I’d like to start by saying thanks so much for reading over the years. It means more than you could possibly imagine, and I hope we can continue to provide coverage worth reading/listening to moving forward.

Before the new school year gets underway, though, I wanted to bring a few things to your attention as to how you can better keep up with PFB this fall.

New Pod on the Way

If you haven’t heard, we’re starting up a second podcast here at PFB.

Myself, Justin Southwell and Nathan Gildsleider are going to get together twice a week during football season for preview and review pods of the Cowboys’ games.

Justin and Nathan were both walk-ons to the OSU football team. Justin previously done some stuff with PFB — often centering on uniforms. He’s more recently ran the BLEAV in OKSTATE podcast. Nathan joined him on that pod last season. They’re great guys and provide a level of insight that not many can given they’ve seen college football from the inside.

We’re still (I’m still) getting a few things squared away on the back end to get the new pod up and running, but the plan is to get at least one episode out before the season starts, ideally getting two done before that date.

PFB+ Sale

We’re giving 25% off PFB+ subscriptions heading into OSU’s 2025 season. Meaning, a year subscription is $60. If you’d like to take advantage of the savings, you can do so here.

A PFB+ subscription gets you access to our premium forum and ad-free browsing on the site.

We’re trying to add more value for our PFB+ subscribers. Just yesterday, Tyler wrote a story catching up with OSU safety commit Carter Langenderger that is available to PFB+ subscribers. We’re also set to have another PFB+-exclusive article in the next few days.

During the season, Tyler is going to take a deep dive on some advanced stats from OSU games and help paint the picture those stats are telling. Those pieces will also be exclusive to PFB+. We also have game threads for every football and men’s basketball game where we go back and forth while OSU plays and have our regular threads that people are talking OSU in every day.

The main thing PFB+ does, however, is help us continue to operate in the manner we’ve been able to. We’re a completely independent outlet that covers much more than just the football team. Tough times in the world, but if you can spare the expense, it’d mean a great deal to us.

Looking for Sponsorships

This is the last thing that has to do with money, I promise.

We’re also looking for sponsorships for the upcoming school year for the following content pieces:

The Pistols Firing Podcast: Have Carson and Colby advertise your business on the pod.

10 Thoughts: We’ll plug your business at the top of every 10 Thoughts article this season.

Daily Bullets: Our Daily Bullets are emailed out every morning (get Daily Bullets in your inbox by signing up here) with a recap of the day that was. Bullets is also posted to the site every day.

The new pod: We have no firm numbers to hand you in terms of reach, but if you’d like to help us get this second pod off the ground, we’d be more than willing to help you advertise.

If you’re interested in discussing reach and rates, shoot me an email at pistolsfiringblog@gmail.com.

We’re Back on Instagram

As part of trying to get my head above water since taking over the duties of a business owner, I neglected the Pistols Firing Instagram account quite a bit. But, we’re back to using it.

You can give the PFB Instagram a follow here, where we’ll feature more of Devin’s great work throughout the school year.

While you’re at it, if you haven’t followed PFB on Twitter (X) or Facebook, be sure to do that, as well.
