After a fun five-day weekend of college football, the Cowboys are still on the outside looking in of the major polls.

The AP Poll and Coaches Poll released Tuesday. Oklahoma State was absent from the AP Poll but did receive votes in the Coaches Poll that would’ve put OSU tied for 37th in an expanded poll.

After a rough opening weekend for the league, three Big 12 teams are in the polls in Texas (11/10), Kansas State (15/15) and Oklahoma (18/17). TCU, Iowa State, Texas Tech, Houston and UCF all received votes from AP pollsters while TCU, OSU, Kansas, Tech, UCF and Houston received votes in the Coaches Poll.

Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes — a future Big 12 member — made the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2020 after upsetting TCU in Fort Worth. Utah, another future Big 12 member, also climbed two spots from the preseason polls to now, coming in at No. 12 in both polls this week.
