Prospect to watch: 2017 CB Darrion Green talks OSU Interest, Visit

Oklahoma State signed multiple cornerbacks in the 2016 recruiting class, but there will once again be an effort to fill slots next season with the departure of Ashton Lampkin and others after next season.

I talked with 2017 cornerback Darrion Green of Dallas, Texas, who said he has long had the Cowboys on his radar and shows a very high interest in the program.

Green is a 6-foot, 170-pound running back/cornerback for Woodrow Wilson High, and an absolute speedster on the gridiron. As it stands, Green doesn’t have any FBS offers – but that likely won’t be the case for long.

Green – “Speedy Green” as he calls himself – has a 4.40 40-yard dash time per his 247sports profile. He has the ideal size of a cornerback at six-foot, and the athleticism to cover in space and speed to make him a very intriguing prospect at the next level.

“Mike Yurcich and Tim Duffie have been the coaches recruiting me,” Green said. “I have a high interest in [Oklahoma State], and they have a really good team. I would like to help them improve and win more games,” he said.

Green said he is planning to visit Stillwater for the spring football game on April 16.

With Oklahoma State being one of the schools who takes pride in early evaluations and making offers to underrated guys, Green is definitely a guy to keep an eye on moving forward. With his speed and athleticism, he’s a guy who I think could explode onto the recruiting scene very soon.
