QB Nick Starkel Leading Liberty Christian to Hot Start
Friday night’s game proved once again that Nick Starkel may be one of the most underrated quarterback prospects in the state of Texas. Through just three quarters Friday, Starkel had already thrown for over 400 yards through the air. He finished the night with a 67% completion rate and 405 yards through the air in a 26-5 victory.
Starkel’s Liberty Christian squad is 5-1 on the season, and have a tough road matchup this week against Bishop Dunne – home of Darrion Sugar Loaf Daniels. [Fun fact: Darrion Daniels, now a freshman Oklahoma State defensive tackle, was the player who injured Starkel and ended his season last year.]
Starkel is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound quarterback who has been verbally committed to play for Oklahoma State since April.
