Uniforms
Ranking the football uniforms: No. 21
I didn’t like the Orange-Orange-Orange look and adding a black hat doesn’t help it very much.
Uniform No. 21:Â Black-Orange-Orange
Worn:Â Home against Louisiana (the Wes Lunt knee game)
Result:Â Win, 65-24
I guess I just can’t get over the all-orange thing — I’m just not a fan. And the black helmet doesn’t make it any better for me, really.
Part of my thing with the orange top and pants being worn together, and I think somebody mentioned this the other day, is that when they get wet (in the rain, with sweat, whatever) they turn an almost reddish color. It looks strange in person and just plain bad on TV. If you’re going to go all orange then they should be lighter (like Clemson’s).
Plus the monochrome in general feels like a copout (except for the all whites — I have a soft spot for those) when you have however many uniform combinations we have now. It’s like “well we could try to match this up to make it look sweet but instead let’s just pick one color and everything we wear will be that color!”
Sorry traditionalists who despise wearing anything that isn’t #FF7700 on the color hex, I’m out on these.
