Recruiting Wish List: A Reset of Oklahoma State’s Top 2020 Targets

Who OSU should be looking at to fill out its 2020 class.

Oklahoma State is more than halfway through the 2020 recruiting cycle, and its progress in building the class is right on par with that. As we look ahead to August, the class is up to 13 commitments of a possible NCAA-maximum 25, and enough targets are in sight to land right at the number or darn near it before December’s signing period.

Let’s reset the big board and take a look at who is in OSU’s wish list.

1. Monroe Mills, OT — A 6-foot-7 (!), 291-pound tackle from Missouri, Mills is a new addition to this list after being offered by OSU two weeks ago. He’s rated as a three-star recruit but has nearly two dozen offers — including Kansas, Missouri, Iowa State and Illinois.

2. Larry Moore, OT — Well … this could be fun. Moore is pledged to Texas Tech, but OSU offered regardless earlier this month. Moore is a 6-foot-5, 275-pound tackle from Missouri City, Texas, who fits a need at tackle for OSU in the class. It seems like OSU wants at least one more, and ideally, either Mills or Moore would take that final OL spot.

3. Daniyel Ngata, RB — Ngata is a top-100 running back from Cali — not exactly the type of player OSU lands, nor from the geographic region OSU recruits from. But, OSU is in the top five for Ngata, fighting Texas A&M, Clemson, Arizona State and Utah for his signature.

4. Isaiah Jacobs, RB — A slightly more realistic running back option. Jacobs is from down the road in Owasso, but every bit as talented and sought-after as Ngata. OSU offered in May and he visited last month. OSU is battling Michigan, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and nearly a dozen others for the 5-10, 195-pound speedster’s commitment.

5. Jalen Logan-Redding, DE — Logan-Redding is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end from Missouri. OSU is in his top four, as is Missouri — the predicted favorite.

6. Jabar Triplett, OLB — With Brynden Walker backing away from his OSU pledge and flipping to OU, OSU needs an outside linebacker. Triplett, a 6-foot, 215-pound outside backer from Baton Rouge, seems to fit what OSU is looking for. He visited OSU earlier this summer and is considering the Pokes along with Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech. More offers could be coming, but OSU seems to be in a good spot here.

7. Loic Fouonji, WR — The receiver position remains unaddressed (for now) in 2020. Fouonji, though, seems to be trending OSU’s direction. He’s a 6-4, 194-pound pass-catcher from Midland Texas who is considering Baylor, SMU, Arkansas, Colorado and others. I suspect he’s on commitment watch leading into the fall.

8. Jay Wilkerson, WR — Wilkerson is OSU freshman Langston Anderson’s former high school teammate, and OSU offered earlier this year. He seems to be a great fit in OSU’s scheme and there’s a comfort level between OSU and Wilkerson, who have met up on numerous occasions in Stillwater. He’s a 6-1 speedster who can burn defenders down field with his speed and shiftiness.
