Four newbies saw playing time on Saturday — and all four made plays.

After a week in which a dozen true freshmen saw the field in a blowout win over McNeese State, Oklahoma State’s coaches tightened up playing time to those who were needed most in a 40-21 victory on Saturday in Tulsa.

In total, only four newbies saw the field, all four of whom made an impact either in special teams or on defense — or both. Here’s an update to our season-long tracker of who has and hasn’t played this season as we monitor newbies eligible for the NCAA rule that allows for players to play in up to four games while maintaining a redshirt.

(Note: we’re only tracking true freshmen and excluding all other classifications including junior college transfers and traditional transfers.)
