The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap, catching you up to speed on the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting, with an ear to the ground for what to expect in the future.

Underwood Pursuing Now Available 2016 Center

Oklahoma State is in the mix to land 2016 junior college center Tyrek Coger, per a report from Eric Detweiler of Star News Online. Coger originally signed with Ole Miss out of JUCO, but an SEC transfer rule stating that prospects must attend a school full time for three straight semesters was not completed. He’s been granted his full release and, being a 2016 prospect, is a highly sought after ‘free agent’ at this point in the process. With OSU desperately needing more size down low, Coger would be an excellent fit for the Cowboys and could bring a scoring presence down low. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged more than 12 points and 8 rebounds per game last season as a sophomore at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C.

Since his release, Coger has received “about 25 offers” according to the report from Detweiler. But he has already narrowed down his list to Cincinnati, Rutgers, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Charlotte. According to his twitter, he will announce who he has cut his list down to and where he plans to visit.

Not a lot of film on him being from a junior college, but here’s some interesting film from 2011.

2017 DE Commit Visits Stillwater

One of the more recent verbal commitments in the 2017 class, Nelson Mbanasor, made an unofficial visit to Stillwater on Wednesday which he announced on twitter.

Since his commitment on May 24, his stock has continued to rise. He has earned scholarship offers from Arkansas and Purdue since then, adding his scholarship total to 22 schools. With him earning more offers and interest, it’s good news for OSU that the standout from Pflugerville is still showing high interest by visiting, even if it’s a small gesture. The better relationships built in Stillwater, the better chances his commitment sticks.

2017 Shooting Guard Visiting Soon

Per a tweet from Phenom Hoop Report, 2017 shooting guard Keith Williams, whom OSU offered a scholarship to recently, is planning to make a visit sometime in the next week. Williams is an underrated wing from Brooklyn, NY, who has scholarship offers from St. Louis, Loyola Marymount, DePaul, Minnesota, Rutgers, St. Peters, Hofstra, Bowling Green, VCU and Dayton.

Commitment Watch for two OSU targets

One quickly approaching commitment will be that of Shawnee, Okla. offensive lineman/center Creed Humphrey. According to a report from The Football Brainiacs, Humphrey is expected to commit later this month (June). The 6-4 300-pound center tore it up at the camp circuits this spring, and picked up offers from OU, OSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Virginia Tech and others. Although he’s obviously an Okie boy, I get the feeling he’s leaning toward Texas A&M or OU for his decision. Barring something unforeseen, Humphrey, in my opinion, will likely make the call for TAMU.

The second upcoming commitment will be Cedarian Lamb, a four-star receiver from Foster, Texas, whom OSU has recruited heavily for awhile now. Lamb announced on twitter his plans to commit before football season, however, on Wednesday he announced that July 25 is the ‘big day.’ While OSU has been in the mix, I get the feeling this will be another re-commitment back to the Sooners – especially since he is planning to take a visit to Norman just four days after his announcement. Recruiting can always change and if there’s one thing you can expect it’s that hardly anything goes as planned. But at the moment, I think OSU is probably on the outside looking in.
