Report: Dez Bryant to Work Out with New Orleans Saints
Where there’s smoke there may end up being fire.
According a report by the NFL Network’s Jane Slater, Dez Bryant, along with at least two other free agent wide receivers, will work out with the New Orleans Saints this week.
The #Saints are bringing in 3 wide receivers tomorrow to workout for the team among them Dez Bryant per sources informed.

Free agent WR Brandon Marshall will join Dez Bryant and at least one other WR in working out for the #Saints, source said. Marshall recently worked out for the #Lions, too.

Bryant has been fairly quiet (at least in terms of free agency) since he tweeted about the possibility of landing with the Patriots or the Redskins in September. He also famously met with the Cleveland Browns in what appeared to be a made-for-TV pitch on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
As for his fit, Bryant’s skillset and size would be a nice compliment to Michael Thomas, who is No. 2 in the league in catches (70) and yards per game (110.0) through eight games.
The #Saints have been evaluating Dez Bryant’s tape since his release. I’m told the consensus all along was Bryant still had something but they have always maintained it would have to make sense and be the right fit. Thomas is and will continue to be their top of mind receiver. https://t.co/ckmZEzOYnY

The prospect of Dez getting one-on-one coverage as a complementary piece could set up nicely for a career renaissance for the 30-year-old, and there aren’t a lot of better QBs to get you the ball than Drew Brees, the all-time leading passer in NFL history who is doing his best to earn his first career MVP.
At 7-1, New Orleans sits atop the NFC South and is one half game behind the Los Angeles Rams for the top spot in the conference. A team, by the way, that the Saints just handed their first loss to on Sunday night.
The Saints sit behind only the Chiefs and the Rams in total offense in the NFL, and adding a talent like Bryant could just boost their explosiveness as they enter the second half of their schedule and look toward the postseason.
