Report: Oklahoma State, Nebraska to Wrestle in December
It would be OSU’s first dual against the Huskers since 2011.
Two of the top three teams from this past NCAA Championships will reportedly meet in a dual next season.
Oklahoma State and Nebraska are set to wrestle on Dec. 21 in Lincoln, according to Willie Saylor. The Cowboys finished third at the NCAA Championships in March, while the Cornhuskers finished second.

Formerly Big 12 foes, these two teams haven’t wrestled a dual since Nebraska left the conference after the 2010-11 season. OSU is 51-4-1 all-time against Nebraska, but just 3-2 in the five most recent meetings.
Nebraska went 11-3 in duals this past season with losses to Northern Iowa, Penn State and Iowa. Despite losing to the Hawkeyes in a dual, Nebraska finished second to Penn State at Big Tens before finishing second in the national tournament, as well.
Like OSU, Nebraska had two national champs this past season in Ridge Lovett (149 pounds) and Antrell Taylor (157 pounds). Lovett should be out of eligibility, but Taylor was only a sophomore. To add to that, the Cornhuskers had eight All-Americans, and six of their eight NCAA qualifiers are eligible to return.
The Cowboys will look quite a bit different this upcoming season, as seven seniors graduated from OSU’s starting lineup. But David Taylor has a top high school recruiting class coming in, and the Pokes did quite well in the portal this offseason, adding national champion Richard Figueroa, All-American Casey Swiderski, Zack Ryder (a blue-chip recruit who redshirted at Penn State last season) and Alex Facundo (who has been on the fringes of Penn State’s lineup) among others. OSU also returns national runner-up Troy Spratley.
The Cowboys and Cornhuskers could wrestle two duals this upcoming season, as both are also in the field for the National Duals Invitational that will be Nov. 15 and 16 in Tulsa.
