TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

One of the Cowboys’ leading receivers from this past year is reportedly in search of a new home.

Shamar Rigby plans on entering the transfer portal, according to CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer. Rigby was a sophomore this past season. He transferred to Oklahoma State from Purdue, following offensive assistant Cory Patterson.

“To be honest, I really just followed him,” said Rigby when asked how he got to Stillwater.

Rigby shared a post to social media after the report.

“I want to thank Oklahoma State University, the coaching staff, my teammates, and the Cowboy community for the opportunity to be part of such a proud program,” Rigby wrote. “My time in Stillwater has helped shape me both on and off the field, and I’m truly grateful for the experiences and relationships I’ve gained here.”

Rigby, listed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, finished the year third in the receiving yards for the Cowboys with 351 yards. He caught 25 passes, one of which was a touchdown from Zane Flores against Kansas. Rigby also threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Rodney Fields Jr. on a trick play against Houston.

He played in all 12 of Purdue’s games as a freshman in 2024, where he caught 11 passes for 113 yards.

It’s obviously been a busy few months for the Cowboys as it pertains to the transfer portal. A 30-day window opened for OSU when Mike Gundy was fired in September, and now a 15-day transfer period opens with Eric Morris being hired and the nation-wide window opens Jan. 2, another wave of portal entries has started to take place.

By my count Rigby makes the fifth OSU receiver to become portal bound along with Jaylen Llyod, Tre Griffiths, Talyn Shettron and Cam Abshire.
