Report: Oklahoma State to Play Minnesota in Final Four Test Run
Oklahoma State’s 2018-19 men’s basketball schedule is yet to be finalized or released, but OSU apparently has a date with Minnesota as part of its nonconference slate.
According to a report from by the Star Tribune, and now confirmed by Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World, the Cowboys will square off against the Golden Gophers for a matchup inside U.S Bank Stadium, the home of the Minnesota Vikings, in what would be a trial run for the 2019 Final Four.
The teams have met six times with the most recent being a nonconference matchup in the 2015-16 season and a 62-60 Cowboy win. OSU is 3-3 against Minnesota.
The Gophers, coached by Richard Pitino, finished 15-17 (4-14 in Big Ten play), going 1-12 over their last 13 games and lost 15 of 17 down the stretch.
But hey, their RPI was No. 168, which actually would have helped OSU last year.
