Report: San Diego State Transfer Guard BJ Davis Set to Visit Oklahoma State
Davis is a two-way point guard who had a 30-point game this past season.
A guard from the Mountain West who averaged double-figure scoring will reportedly visit Oklahoma State next week.
San Diego State transfer BJ Davis has visits set up to Oklahoma State and Auburn, according to Sam Kayser. Listed at 6-foot-3, Davis averaged 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game last season while shooting 37% from 3.
Davis was a junior this past season, meaning he should have one year of eligibility remaining. He’s from Modesto, California and has spent his entire college career to this point as an Aztec.
He had some standout performances this past season like when he dropped 30 points in 26 minutes off the bench against UNLV in early March. He went 4-for-8 from 3 in what was a fantastic game.
He also led the Aztecs to a wild triple-overtime win against Boise State in January. He finished that marathon with 22 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four steals in 41 minutes on the floor.
Davis was impactful as a sophomore, as well, starting all 31 games he played in while averaging nine points, three rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.5 steals a game. Davis finished his sophomore season ranking seventh in the Mountain West in steals, and defense will be at or near the top of Steve Lutz’s wish list after this past season.
Davis was a four-star prospect coming out of Modesto Christian in the 2023 class. 247Sports listed him as the No. 129 player in the class while tabbing him as a Top 20 point guard and Californian. He ended up picking SDSU over offers from Ole Miss, Washington, Washington State and others.
OSU has plenty of roster spots available in the early portions of this transfer window. Thus far, Kanye Clary, Benjamin Ahmed and Ryan Crotty are the only announced returners while we’re still waiting on an announcement from Mekhi Ragland. That group is joined by three incoming freshmen.
Other than that, everyone else either graduated or is in the portal.
