Iverson Hooks was one of the American’s best receivers in 2025, and it looks like the reigning American Coach of the Year took notice.

UAB transfer receiver Iverson Hooks has a visit scheduled to Oklahoma State, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He’ll be in Stillwater on Tuesday and Wednesday and also has visits scheduled over the next week to Wisconsin, Indiana, LSU and Auburn. Oregon and Louisville will also get visits, per Fawcett.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Hooks was a Second Team All-American Conference selection in 2025 after catching 72 passes for 927 yards and seven touchdowns.

He eclipsed the century mark in receiving yards in two games this season. He went berserk on Memphis in October, catching 11 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns against the Tigers, leading UAB to a win. Then, against South Florida, Hooks caught 10 passes for 146 yards.

A native of Pike Road, Alabama, Hooks has spent his entire college career at UAB. He was a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and chose the Blazers over offers from UCF, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern and others.

He was a quarterback in high school, leading Pike Road to a 14-0, state title-winning season as a senior. He threw for 1,057 yards, ran for 1,009 yards and accounted for 28 offensive touchdowns that season, according to MaxPreps.

After redshirting in 2022, it looks like Hooks was prepped for a big 2023, but he suffered a season-ending injury just three games into UAB’s campaign. Before that injury, though, Hooks caught 10 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the Blazers’ first three games.

Hooks played in all 12 of UAB’s games in 2024, making 14 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown before his big 2025 season.

If Hooks can get a medical redshirt for that 2023 season, he’d have two years of eligibility left.

The portal has been active with OSU receivers, as nine have announced their intentions to hit the portal, including the likes of Talyn Shettron, Shamar Rigby and Royal Capell.
