Rudolph-to-Washington Connection Hits in Steelers Win over Colts
Rudolph and Washington connect again at last.
It was like primetime 2017 on Sunday in Pittsburgh as Mason Rudolph and James Washington — the most iconic duo since Weeden to Blackmon — finally got on the same page in an NFL game.
The two connected four times for 69 yards — a career-high for Washington — as the Steelers improved to 4-4 with a 26-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Rudolph completed 26 of his 35 pass attempts for 191 yards, one score, one pick, and one behind-the-target throw to Washington, who, naturally, made one of the best catches of the afternoon.

He also ran a nice comeback route on the outside and made a good, strong catch in traffic.

“It kind of brought back memories,” said Washington on Sunday as he relived the connection he had with Rudolph on Sunday. “I’m glad we got a few throws in together and helped us move down the field. I’m looking forward to watching film and looking back and recapping it.”
The win keeps Pittsburgh in second place in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens and improved Rudolph’s record as a starter to 3-2 this season.
