Rudolph’s Heisman Odds Drop but Oklahoma State Still 25-1 to Win It All

After a 459-yard 3-TD performance against Baylor, Mason Rudolph’s Heisman odds … dropped? That’s right, Rudolph went from an 8-1 favorite last week to 10-1 this week, despite moving into the No. 1 spot in the country averaging 395 yards passing per game.

Here’s a look at your new odds.

PLAYER TEAM Last Week This Week
BRYCE LOVE STANFORD 7-2 7-5
SAQUON BARKLEY PENN STATE 3-2 8-5
BAKER MAYFIELD OKLAHOMA 4-1 7-1
J.T. BARRETT OHIO STATE 20-1 7-1
MASON RUDOLPH OKLAHOMA STATE 8-1 10-1
Lamar Jackson Louisville 12-1 15-1
SAM DARNOLD USC 15-1 35-1

The shine on Darnold has clearly worn off as he’s dropped all the way to 35-1. Probably wise considering his 5:3 TD to interception ratio. Rudolph got leaped by J.T. Barrett because … helmet stickers, and two running backs stayed at the top of the list. Honestly, it would be pretty cool just for Rudolph to get to the Heisman presentation in New York, which he will if OSU is somehow able to win the Big 12.

Now let’s take a look at updated national championship odds.

TEAM ODDS
ALABAMA 4-5
CLEMSON 8-1
OHIO STATE 7-2
PENN STATE 12-1
GEORGIA 20-1
WISCONSIN 20-1
OKLAHOMA 25-1
OKLAHOMA STATE 25-1
USC 25-1
TCU 25-1
MICHIGAN 30-1
MIAMI 30-1

Interestingly, Washington dropped out of this top tier, Clemson moved from 4-1 to 8-1, and Auburn dropped out as well. TCU moved up, and now all three Big 12 contenders have 25-1 as USC dropped down from 20-1 to join them.

All things considered, I think it’s a win for OSU to have the seventh-best odds at the halfway point of the season. Also, I am rooting for Big Ten carnage.
