Running Back Target Darwin Barlow Makes Official Visit to OSU

Class of 2019 running back prospect Darwin Barlow, a 5-11, 195-pound recruit from Newton, Texas, made his official visit to Oklahoma State over the weekend. Barlow, a three-star recruit at 247Sports and a four-star according to Rivals, is one of OSU’s top targets in the 2019 cycle.

He tweeted the following after his visit thanking the coaching staff and calling the visit “sooo amazing!”

Barlow has more than 20 scholarship offers from the likes of Arkansas, LSU, TCU, Louisville, Ole Miss, Missouri and others. He completed his official to Arkansas last weekend and will likely close out the month with an LSU official at some point before July, per Rivals.com.

Oklahoma State has been pitching Barlow to become a Chris Carson-like monster at Oklahoma State, and the staff’s main selling point, he says, is their belief in his versatility.

“They think that I can be a major asset to them and they have brought up me possibly graduating early to get up there quicker,” Barlow told Rivals.

“They have watched me during the spring play running back and receiver,” he said. “I think that I fit perfectly in their offense – they’re always sending me plays telling me that I can be their next Chris Carson.”

Barlow left town without making a public commitment, however a cryptic tweet from defensive backs coach Dan Hammerschmidt in the aftermath of his visit leaves one to wonder …. is one coming soon?

I suspect Barlow will play out his official visit train to LSU before making a decision, but it seems as if the Cowboys made a solid impression on him during his official.
