The Cowboys already have quite the defensive haul in their 2021 class, but it could soon get more robust.

Nick Martin put Oklahoma State in his top three Monday morning along with Kansas State and Texas Tech. Martin is listed as an athlete and even a running back on some recruiting sites, but the Pokes are after him as a linebacker.

Out of Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas, Martin got a relatively late offer from OSU, but it has seemed to make an impact. OSU offered Martin on Sept. 9. That’s the latest scholarship offer he has announced.

About a month ago, things started trending in OSU’s direction as to which school Martin would pick. OSU is still the trend for Martin, with four 247Sports analyst predicting he ends up in Stillwater.

Martin was the Texas District 6 4A-II Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2018, where he racked up 128 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks as a sophomore. He missed the 2019 season with a knee injury.

He is the No. 717 player in the recruiting class, according to the composite system. That would make him the sixth-highest rated commit in OSU’s 2021 class if he did choose the Pokes.
