A smalltown Texas defensive lineman is strongly considering being a Cowboy.

Brayden White put out his Top 6 on Monday: Oklahoma State, Stanford, Houston, Vanderbilt, Baylor and Minnesota. Out of Shepherd, Texas — a town of about 2,000 northeast of Houston — White is the No. 833 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the 2027 class. 247Sports tabs him as the No. 70 defensive lineman in the cycle and a Top 80 Texan.

Oklahoma State offered White back in February, and he took an unofficial to Stillwater in March. White has locked in an official visit starting June 18. He also has visits scheduled to Stanford (May 22), Houston (May 28), Baylor (June 5) and Vandy (June 11).

MaxPreps had White with 24 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and eight sacks in nine games as a junior. He also had an interception and a forced fumble. Being a smalltown kid, White plays both ways. He caught seven passes for 118 yards and four TDs as a tight end.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 280 pounds, White might project as an interior lineman long term, but he’s athletic enough to do some different things. He lined up as a three technique and a traditional defensive end as a junior.

Oklahoma State coach Eric Morris is a big believer in multisport athletes. White also plays basketball at Shepherd. According to MaxPreps, he averaged 23 points and 13 rebounds a game this past season after averaging 21.9 points and 12.2 boards a game as a sophomore. A defensive lineman who hoops.

Oklahoma State has one commit in its 2027 class to this point in quarterback Carson White. It shouldn’t be long until that number starts to increase, though. OSU has more than 20 official visits scheduled over the next few months.
