Top 100 Prospect Zack Dawson Commits to Oklahoma State

Just less than a day after making an unofficial visit to Stillwater, four-star point guard Zack Dawson has announced he will continue his basketball career at Oklahoma State. Here’s what he posted on his twitter account:

First of all I would like to thank God for blessing me and giving me this opportunity and I would also like to thank all of the schools that have recruited me. I have thought about everything with my dad and today I have made the decision to continue my education and athletic career by committing to Oklahoma State University. I feel that this is the best situation for me and my family. #GoCowboys

Dawson is what you would consider to be a “high major” projection at point guard. With offers from Louisville, K-State, and Arizona, the 6-4 Dawson has Marcus Smart-like height for a point guard, with an excellent ability to score, get to the bucket, and find the open man. Dawson has a smooth game and great feel for the court with good vision. Not only can he slash to the rim with his physical frame, but he’s a real threat in the open floor with the ability to pull up from long range. He’s rated as the No. 67 prospect in the 2017 class by ESPN and No. 64 overall prospect by 247sports.

As for his skills, here’s what he feels he can bring to the table (per scout.com): “I specialize in pick and roll. I can get to the basket, shoot it, finish, get guys involved; just try to make the right play at the end of the day.”
