Ross is expected to wrestle at heavyweight in college.
David Taylor plucked one of the nation’s top wrestling prospects out of Iowa.

Ross is a two-sport athlete at Fort Dodge High School in Iowa, also excelling on the gridiron. Rivals lists Ross as a four-star linebacker in the 2026 class, as he has offers to play football at Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Nebraska and others. He missed his junior football season with a shoulder injury, though.
On the mat, Ross is a two-time Iowa state champ, winning at 195 pounds as a freshman and 215 pounds as a sophomore. He is undefeated in his junior season.
The Cowboys were just in Iowa last week for duals against Northern Iowa and Iowa State. While there, Taylor, according to Flo, made a trip to the Ed Winger Invitational. Ross won the event’s 215-pound bracket going 4-0 with two pins and two technical falls.
With Ross being the No. 3 recruit in the 2026 class, OSU is also still in on No. 1 and 2. Jax Forrest and Bo Bassett are high school teammates in Pennsylvania. They visited OSU together in November. Bassett is set to announced his college commitment Tuesday, and on Monday said he’s down to a final four of OSU, Penn State, Iowa and Virginia Tech.
