Senior Jalen McCleskey, a decorated Oklahoma State wide receiver who announced earlier this year he intends to utilize his redshirt and transfer from the program, will make his first official visit this upcoming weekend when he returns to his home state to visit Tulane, per a source.

McCleskey went to St. Paul’s High School in Covington, La.

McCleskey played all three years he was at OSU and was in line to become a top-10 receiver in OSU history this season, but decided instead to redshirt, graduate and transfer to another program for the 2019 season. Sources indicate the decision was a mutual parting of ways, which was spurred by a proposal — of which was quickly rejected — from McCleskey to redshirt.

He will be immediately eligible next year wherever he lands.

McCleskey remains in Stillwater as he works towards his bachelors degree, which he’s expected to complete in December, per a source, and has been using his time off to train and prepare for his next opportunity.

At Tulane, Jalen’s father, J.J., who played in the NFL for seven seasons, is on the staff and currently serves as an assistant on the Green Wave staff. Though Jalen has heard from other programs with high interest in retaining his talent, the Green Wave are likely the favorite to reel in the former OSU standout.
