Trio of Future Cowboy Wrestlers Named to Asics All-America Team
USA Wrestling announced the Asics All-American team on Thursday, and the incoming freshman duo of Anthony Montalvo and Travis Wittlake Jr. were both included along with 2019 commit Greg Kerkvliet Jr.
The top recruit of this class for the Cowboys, Wittlake, was named to the first team. 2019 commit, Kerkvliet, who is currently rated as the top overall recruit of the 2019 class, was named second team. And Montalvo was listed as honorable mention.
Here’s a highlight video of Wittlake from 2016, a year he won a bronze medal at the World Championships.
With most projecting Wittlake as a college 174, Montalvo at 184, and Kerkvliet a confirmed heavyweight, the Cowboys look to be loaded for the future at their upper weights.
