And another edge rusher is headed to Stillwater.

Troy’s DJ Jackson Jr. committed to Oklahoma State, according to 247Sports’ McClain Baxley. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 262 pounds.

This was Jackson’s first season at the Division-I level after starting his career at D-II Carson-Newman and then Coffeyville, a junior college.

With Troy in 2025, Jackson played in 13 games and recorded 22 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks. PFF credited him with 10 QB hurries.

With Coffeyville in 2024, Jackson had 42 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks on his way to being named to the All-KJCCC (Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference) Second Team.

Carson-Newman is in Jefferson City, Tennessee. As a freshman there, he played in eight games and had a half sack.

Jackson hails from Atlanta by way of Mundy’s Mill High School.

The Cowboys weren’t the only Power Conference team in pursuit, with Chris Hummer also reporting Jackson having lined up visits to Kansas and Michigan State.

Jackson is the third defensive line prospect to commit to OSU on Friday and the eighth overall. He joins Keviyan Huddleston (North Texas), Fatafehi Vailea II (North Texas), Jerry Lawson (Louisville), Billy Walton (SMU), Braylon Rigsby (Texas Tech), James Williams (Florida State) and Saadiq Clements (North Texas) as committed guys on the defensive front.  It’s a good mix of talent from the Power Conferences to the Group of Five and a nice mix of interior guys, edge rushers and more traditional defensive ends.
