Twitter Reaction: Mike Boyton, Mike Gundy Weigh in on Jawun Evans Headed to Clippers

It was a big night for the standout point guard from Oklahoma State.

Jawun Evans became the first Oklahoma State Cowboy to be drafted by an NBA team in a few years (since Marcus Smart and Markel Brown in 2014) when he was selected no. 39 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Shortly after, it was announced that the Los Angeles Clippers would be acquiring Evans from the Sixers in exchange for $100,000 in cash.

The deal won’t be made official until the start of the league year on July 1, when the 2017-2018 cap year begins.

It appears to be just a dream scenario for Evans, the point guard who has been compared to the Clippers’ superstar point guard Chris Paul, due to his size, quickness, tenacity, and pick and roll game. Assuming Chris Paul sticks around in Los Angeles, Evans will be learning and playing with one of the best point guards in the game every single day.

Here’s what players, coaches, and teams had to say in celebration of Jawun Evans’ big night.

The OSU Men’s Basketball account passed along some great pictures of Jawun and his family from the draft in New York, as well as a touching video of Jawun’s reaction to getting drafted-

Last night was about watching a Cowboy’s dreams come true. Congrats @j3vans1_! #2017NBADraft #okstate pic.twitter.com/uo09vzNPZp
