Tylan Wallace Projected as a First Round Pick in 2020 NFL Draft by CBS Sports

No. 2 could be a team’s No. 1 pick.

Tylan Wallace has been nothing short of spectacular through eight games. Fresh off a big 131-yard performance against Iowa State, replete with a meme-worthy stiff arm, he’s keeping pace with his sophomore breakout season that saw him finish second in Biletnikoff voting.

Plays like that and the eye-popping production (a Big 12-leading 903 receiving yards, eight touchdowns and 60.9 percent catch rate), have predictably landed Tylan on some way-too-early draft projections.

The 2020 class is considered to by one of the better WR classes in some time but, if Tylan should declare, he’s already been mentioned as a possible first-round pick.

In the latest 2020 mock draft from CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso, Wallace is projected to go 28th overall to the Green Bay Packers. Imagine Tylan one-handing bombs from Aaron Rodgers.

The highest-rated receiver prospect to come to OSU since Dez has lived up to that hype. His head coach even drew the comparison after Saturday’s game.

“The play that he made Saturday was like Dez Bryant,” said Gundy. “It looked like something Dez would do back in the day. It’s about as good of a play as I’ve seen in a long time.”

Whether or not he matches Dez’s production at the next level remains to be seen, but there’s little doubt that his draft stock will continue to rise as the year goes on.
