Underwood Tries to Snag Late 2016 Top 125 Recruit
There were a few football recruits at the OSU Spring Game over the weekend, but none of them intrigued me as much as the basketball visitor Brad Underwood and Co. hosted. I’ve been fascinated by how Underwood is going to go about recruiting since he was hired a few weeks ago, basically begging Kyle B. to write about it as much as possible. He’s obliged, and Underwood hasn’t let me down.
I’m in on Brandon Averette and hopeful that Underwood can also convince Alpha Diallo, who is one of the handful of top 125 players left uncommitted for 2016, to come to Stillwater.
Diallo visited over the weekend, and it appears that there are two tangential connections to OSU. The first is that Lamont Evans was recruiting him to South Carolina (where it appears he was leaning) before Evans was signed by Oklahoma State as an assistant coach. The second is that he went to prep school in New Hampshire at the school Lindy Waters was considering after he got kicked out of Norman North.
So that’s interesting. Also, there’s this update from 247 in March.
A new school, Connecticut, has jumped into the fray this week. Kevin Ollie watched Diallo score 25 points against IMG and then go for 35 points, eight rebounds and eight assists against Hargrave Military Academy.
Diallo is also considering Florida and Providence in addition to UConn. Here’s his tape.
