Undrafted Free Agent Tracker: Which Teams Are Picking Up Pokes after the NFL Draft

The 2023 NFL Draft has come and gone, but the movement of former Oklahoma State standouts isn’t done yet.

Tyler Lacy and Jason Taylor II were the only former Cowboys to get taken in the NFL Draft’s seven rounds. Lacy went in the Fourth Round to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Taylor went in the Seventh to the Los Angeles Rams.

But there are still a handful of other former OSU players who will get added to NFL teams this weekend. Here is a recap of who is going where. This will be updated as announcements start to trickle out.

Brock Martin — Las Vegas Raiders

A fan favorite during his six-year college career, Brock Martin got picked up by the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Capital Sports Advisors.

Martin developed a tough guy reputation battling through injuries and doing what was needed for the Cowboys to win games. In 2022 he had 42 total tackles (tops among OSU defensive linemen), including 11.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. For his career, he had 146 total tackles, 39 tackles for loss and 15 sacks.

He was an All-Big 12 First Team selection during the Cowboys’ Fiesta Bowl-winning 2021 season. He made the conference’s Second Team this past season. He was a five-time First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.

Martin was a three-star recruit in the 2017 class, picking up offers to Baylor, Kansas State, Kansas, Texas Tech and others before landing in Stillwater.

Tanner Brown — Los Angeles Rams

A transfer from UNLV, Tanner Brown punted for the Rebels, but now he’ll kick for the Rams.

In two seasons at OSU, Brown went 39-for-44 on field goals and a perfect 78-for-78 on extra points. He was 22-for-23 on field-goal attempts this past season, including hitting a 52-yarder against TCU. He was a Lou Groza semifinalist this past season.

Brown’s road to the NFL was a tremendous one, staring at the junior college ranks at College of the Canyons, where he was an All-American. He then walked on at UNLV and OSU, proving himself all along the way.

Matt Hembrough — Arizona Cardinals

By the way Mike Gundy talked about Matt Hembrough during the past few seasons, Hembrough might be the best long snapper OSU has ever seen. Now he’s headed to Arizona, according to 247Sports’ Cody Nagel.

Hembrough was an All-American in 2021. He snapped field goals and punts for the Cowboys, being perfect on more than 550 snaps since 2019. He also made six career tackles, with two coming this past season.

Hembrough showed his athleticism at OSU’s Pro Day, recording a 36.5-inch vertical, 22 reps on the bench and an unofficial 4.88 40-yard dash.

Lamont Bishop — Seattle Seahawks

It looked as if Lamont Bishop was ready to step into a starting role for the Cowboys in 2023 before he was denied an extra year of eligibility. Nonetheless, Bishop has a shot at the NFL.

Bishop went the junior college route before joining the Cowboys in 2020 and redshirting. Since he has played in all 26 of OSU’s games the past two seasons, recording 33 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He had a solid final college season, recording 29 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss despite starting just one game. In that start (the Guaranteed Rate Bowl), Bishop made nine tackles and two tackles for loss.

Out of Iowa Central Community College, Bishop chose Oklahoma State over offers from Marshall, Southern Miss, UAB and others.

Braydon Johnson — Buffalo Bills

The ever speedy Braydon Johnson got picked up by the Buffalo Bills, according to Equity Sports.

Listed at 6-foot, 205 pounds, Johnson caught 32 passes for 566 yards and three touchdowns last season. Johnson had an impressive Pro Day this spring, running an unofficial sub-4.4 40-yard dash.

Johnson was a three-star recruit in the 2017 recruiting class, picking the Pokes over offers from Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas and others. He had injury struggles during his six seasons in Stillwater, but he still put together an impressive career, catching 79 passes for 1,314 yards and eight touchdowns.

Sione Asi — Denver Broncos

An anchor in the middle of OSU’s defense, Sione Asi is headed to Denver.

Initially a junior college transfer, Asi started playing for the Cowboys in 2019 and has since recorded 50 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. His best year at OSU came this past season where he started all 13 games, recording 29 tackles, seven tackles for loss and a sack.

Out of Snow College in Utah, Asi picked OSU over an offer from New Mexico.
