Uniform Review: Chrome Helmet Could Use an Adjustment
Oklahoma State wore another repeat combo with Orange Chrome-Black-Orange, which is a fan favorite of many. Whenever I see this combo, I’m still going to think of James Castleman’s helmet paint explosion in the Cactus Bowl and try to forget about the Baylor game.
There’s not a lot to say about with this combo since we’ve already seen it, and that’s fine. I would have liked to have seen a helmet logo change at this point with this helmet. I’m sure a chrome OSU brand logo would make that one extra sharp.
I did a piece last year where I ranked the uniform combinations that OSU hasn’t worn. Somewhere in my top five was Orange-Black-Gray. This combo was close to that. I think it would be one of the better tri-color combinations for the Cowboys.
I threw Black-Gray-Black out there as a uniform prediction this week hoping we would get a chance to see potentially the most intimidating combo OSU has in its arsenal, but I can’t complain when the Cowboys wear their orange and black.
Gameday is coming to Stillwater and the Cowboys will be hosting the Sooners for Bedlam. We have seen the Pokes wear Black-Orange-Black against the Sooners twice already. While it is one of the best combinations Oklahoma State wears, it will be interesting to see if they decide to switch things up this year.
