UTEP Transfer Defensive Back Kobe Hylton Announces Oklahoma State Offer
In two seasons with the Miners, Hylton earned two Conference USA All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
The transfer portal just opened Monday, but the Cowboys are already getting active in it.
UTEP transfer defensive back Kobe Hylton announced an Oklahoma State offer on Tuesday night. In two seasons with the Miners, Hylton earned two Conference USA All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and recorded 146 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, a forced fumble and four fumble recoveries. He was listed as a 6-foot, 205-pound safety on UTEP’s 2023 roster.

In the 2023 season, he recorded 54 tackles, four pass breakups, a fumble recovery and two forced fumbles. Hylton played 562 snaps this season, per Pro Football Focus. He was targeted 16 times in coverage, where he allowed 10 catches for 171 yards and one touchdown.
Statistically, Hylton had a better 2022 season than he did in 2023. He had 92 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles as a sophomore in 2022.
Hylton has played in Oklahoma before, starting his college career at NEO, where during the 2021 spring season he had 19 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble in six games. Originally from Snellville, Georgia, Hylton went to Louisiana after his season at NEO, where he redshirted before transferring to UTEP.
Since Hylton entered the portal, he has also announced offers to Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion, Sam Houston and Akron.
