Christian Encarnacion-Strand tore up the minor leagues, so it was only a matter of time before the Reds gave him a shot at the bigs. He took advantage of that shot on Tuesday night.

Encarnacion-Strand, an All-American at Oklahoma State, blasted his first MLB home run against the San Francisco Giants to momentarily give his Reds a lead before Cincinnati went on to lose the game. The ball eventually landed 426 feet from home plate.

It was Encarnacion-Strand’s first big league hit in just his second game. He ended the game 2-for-3 at the dish with the three RBIs and one run scored.

In 211 games across three seasons in the minors, Encarnacion-Strand hit .322 with 56 home runs and 194 RBIs. Encarnacion-Strand was taken in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft after one season in Stillwater where he hit .361 with 15 home runs and 66 RBIs.
