Watch: Tylan Wallace Levels Iowa State Defender With Crushing Block
STILLWATER — Iowa State defensive back Lawrence White had to peel both himself — and his crushed soul — off the turf at Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday after sophomore receiver Tylan Wallace dealt him a punishing block in the first quarter.
Wallace delivered the blow after Cowboy back Jelani Woods caught a pass and was barreling his way down the field. Seeing a chance to produce a highlight reel crack, he happily jumped at the opportunity.
Wallace worked his way back up field on the play and there was suspicion that the refs, who reviewed the play, were working to determine if he was guilty of targeting or a crack-back block. But Wallace remained in the game and instead it was determined that the review was to decide if Woods fumbled.
Woods retained possession on the play, but OSU couldn’t capitalize on the big-gainer and was forced to punt later in the possession.
