Weekend Watch Guide: An Oklahoma State Fan’s Guide to Week 10 of the College Football Season
A look at the Big 12 schedule and other notable games for this weekend.
How much fun has this college football season been (when not watching OSU)? Well, it’s sort of a down weekend in terms of the national schedule, but this weekend still features a Top 5 matchup.
Happy Halloween/America’s Greatest Homecoming. Oklahoma State hosts Arizona State at 6 p.m. Saturday in a game that was moved from FS1 to FOX. Here is a look at the Big 12 this week plus a gander at other notable games throughout the country.
Big 12 Schedule
Texas Tech (5-3) at No. 11 Iowa State (7-0) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN
No. 17 Kansas State (7-1) at Houston (3-5) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on FOX
Arizona (3-5) at UCF (3-5) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on FS1
Arizona State (5-2) at Oklahoma State (3-5) — 6 p.m. Saturday on FOX
TCU (5-3) at Baylor (4-4) — 7 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2
A few weeks ago, the Red Raiders were hovering around the Big 12 title picture, but they’ll head to Ames having lost their past two. The Cyclones control their destiny as it pertains to Arlington.
The Wildcats are still in a position to make a Big 12 title push, having lost only once in Big 12 play. K-State should be able to handle a Houston team that is averaging just 15.6 points a game.
UCF has lost five in a row and just made some changes on its defensive staff this week with the firing of DC Ted Roof. Arizona comes in having lost four in a row. Somebody has to win Saturday.
TCU and Baylor almost assuredly aren’t going to play for a Big 12 title, but each enters this rivalry game on a two-game winning streak.
Other Games to Watch
San Diego State (3-4) at No. 15 Boise State (6-1) — 7 p.m. Friday on FS1
No. 4 Ohio State (6-1) at No. 3 Penn State (7-0) — 11 a.m. Saturday on FOX
Duke (6-2) at No. 5 Miami (8-0) 11 a.m. Saturday on ABC
No. 19 Ole Miss (6-2) at Arkansas (5-3) — 11 a.m. Saturday on ESPN
Air Force (1-6) at No. 21 Army (7-0) — 11 a.m. Saturday on CBS
Maine (4-4) at Oklahoma (4-4) — 1:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN+
Tulsa (3-5) at UAB (1-6) — 1:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN+
No. 1 Oregon (8-0) at Michigan (5-3) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on CBS
Florida (4-3) at No. 2 Georgia (6-2) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC
No. 18 Pitt (7-0) at No. 20 SMU (7-1) — 7 p.m. Saturday on ACC Network
The Game of the Week will get over well before the Cowboys kick off in the evening, as Ohio State travels to Happy Valley. The Buckeyes scraped past Nebraska last week and have looked good but beatable this season. The Nittany Lions are wondering if this can finally be their year.
Outside of that there aren’t a ton of good-on-good matchups around the country this weekend, but Pitt’s trip to Dallas is big for the ACC title picture. Both teams are unbeaten in ACC play, and the Panthers might be one of the more disrespected teams in the country considering they’re 7-0 and ranked just 18th. If SMU can win this game though, the Mustangs remaining three opponents enter this weekend with a combined record of 12-12.
