The Cowboys got another one.

Kameron Powell, a 6-foot-2 205-pound wide receiver out of McKinney, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Sunday after an official visit this weekend. Powell becomes the fourth 2025 prospect the commit to Oklahoma State this month and the third in the past four days.

Powell chose Oklahoma State over offers from Arkansas, Utah, Arizona State, Kansas State, Kansas and others. As of writing, none of the major recruiting services have given him a star rating, but with an offer sheet like that, it’s only a matter of time.

Powell plays at McKinney North, a team that went 7-4 in his junior season and made the Texas 5A-DI state playoffs. He caught 39 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023.

OSU offered Powell in January, and he took his official visit this weekend. He also had officials set up for Arkansas (June 14), Colorado State (June 7) and Cal (June 20) before the Pokes got him in earlier and closed quickly.

Powell becomes the second commit expected to play receiver in the class, joining Idabel’s Matrail Lopez. Powell is the fourth offensive prospect to join the class and fifth overall. Offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley, linebacker Kyle Keya and offensive lineman Ryker Haff have all committed to the Cowboys this month.

Because Powell isn’t yet ranked, the Cowboys don’t move in the early recruiting rankings. The class — early in the cycle — sits 48th nationally, according to 247Sports. That’s good for ninth in the Big 12.
