Wrestling Recruiting: John Smith Makes In-home Visit to Tate Picklo
OSU looking to keep 2021’s No. 14 overall prospect in-state.
OSU has probably the best recruiting class in the country for 2020 and may have a pretty solid one for 2021.
John Smith and Co. are now making their big push for the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2021 class out of Mustang, Okla., Tate Picklo.
Thanks to Coach John Smith & Coach Esposito for coming to visit Tate Picklo at home tonight. It was a great follow up to Tate’s 1st official campus visit. Oklahoma State Wrestling has an incredible tradition and a lot to offer a student athlete. pic.twitter.com/DHGIZdNlwh

Picklo, who is a Fargo champion and made the Cadet World Team this summer in Greco, made his first official visit at the McNeese State football game on September 7. John Smith and Zack Esposito followed that up with an in-home visit on Monday night.
Picklo won his first 6A state title this past season at 160 pounds.
One year after a heartbreak in the finals I can finally say… IM A STATE CHAMP!? pic.twitter.com/tRs89awIo5

Tate made his first official visit alongside his twin sister Trinity who committed to play soccer at OSU last week.
Blessed with the opportunity to follow my dreams and play soccer at Oklahoma State?⚽️ Go Pokes!! pic.twitter.com/Qy57JqCWub

Tate has been contacted by OU, Michigan, Cornell, and others as well. Picklo’s older brother Cam wrestles at Cornell.
For any Cowgirl soccer fans who are wondering, I’m told by a number of people close to the Picklo family that Trinity is the toughest one of the group. That’s a very athletic family, so I would expect big things from her.
