Youngstown State Transfer Corner Jeremiah Piper Commits to Oklahoma State
The Cowboys pick up a speedy corner.
Eric Morris added some speed to his first Cowboy football roster in the early portions of the summer.
Youngstown State transfer corner Jeremiah Piper committed to Oklahoma State on Friday after visiting, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Piper played in just one game with the Penguins this season but had previously played at Western Illinois and Western Michigan.
Listed at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Piper boasts a 4.3 40-yard dash on his Twitter profile.
In 2024 while at Western Illinois, he made 28 tackles, picked off a pass and broke up four. PFF noted that Piper was targeted 35 times that season, where he allowed 21 catches.
He appeared in 14 games at Western Michigan from 2020 to 2023.
Before that, he was a two-star prospect coming out of the 2020 recruiting class by way of Southfield, Michigan. He picked Western Michigan over offers from Akron, Ohio and Toledo. He played quarterback in high school, running for 1,300 yards as a senior while also intercepting a pass and making 50 tackles as a defender.
He adds to a deep portal haul Morris has had to bring in ahead of his first season of the Cowboys’ coach. North of 80 players on the Cowboys’ roster are new. But, the Pokes are a little light at corner, with just six currently listed on the roster: returner LaDainian Fields, returner Kobi Foreman, Texas Tech transfer Mo Horn, North Texas transfer Kollin Lewis, freshman Maliek Bracy and freshman Marrel Davis III.
