Lenzy Pipkins Cut by Colts, Claimed Off of Waivers by Detroit Lions
The former Cowboy DB is on the move again.
Just over a week ago, Lenzy Pipkins was planning a trip to Dallas to see family when the Indianapolis Colts informed him that he would be promoted from their practice squad and need to cancel his flight and instead book one for Foxborough.
The Colts were down two cornerbacks and penciled the former Oklahoma State DB in as a starter for their matchup with Tom Brady and New England Patriots. Pipkins paid off his second career start and a career-high 53 snaps on defense with a career mark of nine tackles.
Now he has to book a flight to Motor City.
After the Colts cut Pipkins to sign safety Mike Mitchell, and once he cleared waivers, the Detroit Lions scooped him up.
The Lions have claimed CB Lenzy Pipkins off of waivers from the Colts and cut veteran LB Marquis Flowers, per source.

Now Pipkins heads to Detroit to compete for a spot in a somewhat crowded corner group including the likes of veteran corners Nevin Lawson and Darius Slay and fellow second-year players Jamal Agnew and Jalen Tabor. And he might even reignite a college practice matchup with former Cowboy receiver Chris Lacy who resides on the Lions’ practice squad.
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for Pipkins, but it looks like he is taking it in stride.
My story is just now beginning, God has something BIG planned for me. IDK what it is right now but imma keep grinding and keep praying ??
