OSU’s 2019 Recruiting Class Moves Into Top 10 With Addition of 4-Star Watson
The future is bright for Oklahoma State basketball.
Oklahoma State’s 2019 recruiting class got a big bump on Sunday night when it added four-star prospect Marcus Watson, a top-50 national recruit, to its talented recruiting class. Watson gives Mike Boynton his highest-ranked commitment since he’s been on the job, and a top-10 class to boot.
The Pokes were ranked 18th before Watson made his decision, and jumped eight spots to No. 10 with a 60.02 overall rating with him. That ranks ahead of Gonzaga and behind Arizona (9), OU (8) and several others. Below is a look at where the 2019 ratings stand, which are, as recruiting goes, ever-changing.
For now though, things sure look pretty on paper. OSU is likely done for the cycle with Watson in the fold, and if nothing changes in the conference, it will finish No. 2 in the 2019 cycle in the Big 12 behind only OU.
Here is where the rest of the Big 12 ranks, with total number of commitments for each program parenthesized.
8. OU (4)
10. OSU (4)
12. TCU (3)
27. Texas (2)
31. Kansas State (4)
37. West Virginia (2)
42. Kansas (2)
51. Iowa State (3)
54. Texas Tech (2)
95. Baylor (1)
After the commitment, OSU Twitter collectively rejoiced. Among them the man himself, who subtweeted (due to NCAA rules, you can’t name recruits):
