Title Hopes

I appreciated this chart and how it outlines OSU’s (meager) title-game hopes.

I imply here that it’s a seven team race but obviously that’s not realistic. I haven’t done the math to conclude if Baylor or OSU are mathematically eliminated or not but I suspect they are or it’s close. At any rate, neither are good enough to get through their remaining schedules without taking the clinching loss. [ConcerningSports]

OSU isn’t quite Iowa State with the bulk of the tough games behind them but two is better than three or four hard games to go.

Good Company

Tylan Wallace’s Texas sized-statistical performance Saturday put him in rarefied air.

Specific to Wallace, the 38-35 Cowboy win should be remembered for playmaking that positioned him within the lineage of OSU’s elite wide receivers.

In program history, only seven receivers had a 200-yard performance. Curtis Mayfield did it once. Rashaun Woods did it three times. At Kansas in 2006 (when Kansas was infinitely more competitive), Adarius Bowman blew past the 200 mark and hit a 300-yard home run.

Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon each had two 200-yard games, and James Washington had three.

On a huge stage last week, Wallace had his first.

“I’m really aware of all of those guys,” said Wallace, a 6-foot, 185-pound sophomore from Fort Worth, Texas. “I want to be up there with those guys and be one of the great receivers to come through Oklahoma State. I work toward that.

“If you’re a receiver, why wouldn’t you want to play at OSU? It’s a receiver’s dream.” [TulsaWorld]

There’s not a slouch on that list, dudes only. Between Justice Hill, Wallace, Chuba, Stoner, and Tyron Johnson, this offense around Taylor Cornelius feels much more 2013 than 2014.

I’m not ready to move past 2018 yet but man…that sounds like a fun offense headed our way.

Next year OSU could run 12 personnel with Grayson Boomer and Jelani Woods, with Spencer Sanders at QB. (who throws a great seam ball) Line Hubbard at RB and run 4 verticals every play straight to Arlington. I'm weak.
