Bedlam Betting Line Ballooning in OU’s Favor Ahead of Saturday Kick
The ? is pouring in for the home team on Saturday.
Oklahoma State opened the week as a 17.5 point underdog to its in-state rival Oklahoma. It will end it as a three-touchdown dog.
According to updated betting lines from VegasInsider.com, the previous line that had the Pokes keeping it within three scores has shot up 3.5 points over the last few days with money pouring in for the Sooners. The line right now is at -21 in favor of Oklahoma, where it has steadied off for the last few days.
So is OU -21 a smart bet? Or will OSU, which loves to assume the underdog tag, cover the spread? Recent history in the series related to gambling suggests … maybe bet with your head and not your heart. In the three battles, OU has covered including four of the last five, with the lone exception being that oddity that was 2014.
The first half line, for those interested, is OSU +12. The over/under for Saturday’s game is set at 80, and the PFB team is fairly convinced most of those are going to come from the Crimson and Cream if the over hits.
