The Reload: Cowboys Offer Pair of 2020 Offensive Linemen from Arizona
A pair of Arizona big men hold offers from OSU and are on the Pokes’ radar for 2020.
The 2019 class for Josh Henson, OSU’s outstanding offensive line coach, is all but complete. A cycle after reeling in five commitments along the front line, Henson has received four verbal commitments in the 2019 cycle which has allowed him a chance to get ahead for 2020.
Groundwork has been laid in 2020 already with more than a dozen offers to prospects and one commitment already in Eli Russ, a four-star in-state standout, but Henson’s pursuit to build the class out continued this week with two new offers to a pair of Arizona standouts.
Let’s take a look.
Noah Nelson, 2020 OL
Height: 6-7
Weight: 295
The lowdown: Nelson is a Class of 2020 Williams Field High School (Gilbert, Ariz.) standout. Standing at a stellar 6-7 (!), he’s garnered offers from Arizona, UCLA, Indiana, Arizona State and a handful of others already. 247Sports ranks him as a three-star recruit and the No. 54 overall player at his position.
Jaylan Jeffers, 2020 OL
Height: 6-6
Weight: 260
The lowdown: Jeffers isn’t quite as highly-touted as Nelson; he’s ranked as the No. 72 overall offensive tackle prospect in 2020. But he’s still already drummed up a ton of interest, with offers from Louisville, Indiana, Utah and both Arizona programs. Jeffers is from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Ariz.
