Owasso Running Back Isaiah Jacobs Picks up Oklahoma State Scholarship Offer
OSU is looking to keep a top-end in-state recruit in the state.
Owasso product Isaiah Jacobs, one of the more talented prospects in the 2020 recruiting class from Oklahoma, announced Wednesday that Oklahoma State has entered the mix of his recruitment.
Jacobs is a 5-foot-10, 195-pound back who last season rushed for 1,024 yards on only 151 attempts. He also caught 27 passes for 300 yards, scoring 10 touchdowns either on the ground or through the air.
OSU isn’t the first to join the fold for Jacobs. In fact, the timing is curious — he’s long been a Division I prospect after getting offers from Arkansas, SMU and TU in the process. The Pokes’ offer comes after a busy month for Jacobs after Michigan, Nebraska and Kansas State offered.
Running back is a position of need in the 2020 class with Chuba Hubbard (potentially) set up to enter the NFL early, and the junior combo of Dezmon Jackson and LD Brown slated to finish their eligibility after the 2020-21 season. Projecting ahead, it’s possible OSU takes two in this class to fill holes needed for the future.
OSU does not yet have a commitment at running back in the cycle but Jacobs is one of the many targets at the position that also includes Lancaster product Kevontre Bradford, Illinois native Quadre Nicholson and others.
